Tom Robinson is currently assigned as Assistant Chief of Support Services with the Wilmington Fire Department, overseeing the department's Fire Marshal's Office, Training Division, Safety Division and Logistics. He was appointed Interim Fire Chief in September 2021. He was awarded “Firefighter of the Year” in 1989, received two Life Saving Awards, and was most recently honored with the Distinguished Service Award. He served three years with Wrightsville Beach, most of which as an intern, while attending the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. “Steve” Mason began his fire service career in 1987 as a volunteer member of the Wrightsville Beach Fire Department. ![]()
